Hong Kong actress Cecilia Cheung found support in the most unexpected form -- her four-year-old son Lucas.
The actress's plan to save her marriage on Lucas's birthday fell through, when her estranged husband Nicholas Tse brought lawyers to her apartment at Yang Ming Shan a day before the party to discuss divorce details.
Cecilia did not get her husband to change his mind. Instead, she received support from their son Lucas. The actress was crying over her divorce when Lucas consoled her and said, "Don't cry, Mum."
The child even told her he "would not go to Daddy".
It was reported that Cecilia could have at least half of Nicholas's properties after their divorce. However, the actress turned down the offer in exchange for the custody of her sons. The estranged couple is said to have reached a mutual agreement.
Nicholas left for work in China after Cecilia agreed to the divorce. He will be staying in Beijing temporarily and is set to return to Hong Kong at the end of October.
In other related news, Cecilia was working in Milan last month to attend a grueling training on modeling. Then, the actress cried after she received an encouraging video message from Lucas.
"Whenever I see them [my sons], I feel that the Lord has been very good to me. I spent the happiest days of my life with them," Cecilia said.
