Everyone loves their hair and dandruff is something that spoils your hair's health and even embarrasses you in public. Dandruff is a harmless but chronic condition that occurs due to dry or greasy scalp and in the hair. Dandruff can be caused by a number of things, including dry skin; sensitivity to hair products; and skin conditions. The overgrowth of yeast can also cause dandruff. It can be controlled with the proper treatment.
Reasons behind the dandruff include:
Poor diet
Excessive tension and stress
Infected scalp
Hormonal imbalances
Dry weather
Too much use of different hair cosmetics
Preventive measures:
Shampoo hair twice a week for dry hair and do not use ordinary soap to wash hair.
For more severe dandruff, you should use shampoos containing anti-yeast medications like selenium sulfide, ketoconazole, climbazole etc.
After bath towel off the excess water and let the hair dry naturally, that is without blow drying.
Never use your fingernails, this will scratch the scalp and cause more flaking.
Do not wash your hair in hot water, use lukewarm water.
Avoid hair spray, gel, and other cosmetic hair products.
Eat well balanced food; do not consume alcohol, fried, spicy, fast food. Balanced intake of Vitamin A, E and B complex is important for long and healthy hair.
Get 7-8 hours good sleep.
Exercise regularly.
Use Yogurt, It works as a hair conditioner. Wash and rinse the hair, then rub yogurt into the scalp, and leave for 10-15 minutes. Rinse, then wash again, using as little shampoo as necessary.
Mix essential oils of cedar wood (seven drops) cypress and juniper (each ten drops) in 50ml of carrier oil. Rub well into the scalp and leave for one hour. To remove, rub neat, mild shampoo into the hair, then wash out with warm water.
Massage hair with coconut oil mixed with the juice of one lemon. Then give a hot towel treatment.
Apple Cider Vinegar is also very helpful. Wash your hair normally, then pour vinegar carefully onto hair and scrub into your scalp. Leave on for 10-15 minutes, and then rinse with water.
Even washing hair with fresh lemon juice helps to get rid of dandruff.
When to See a Dermatologist:
Even all your home treatment not helps even after 6 weeks.
If the flaking and scaling are not over the whole scalp but just in one or more places.
If you have scabs on the scalp.
If your scalp is red and itchy
If the skin is flaky around the eyebrows, round the nose, behind the ears, front of chest or in between the shoulder blades
