On May 26, the actors appeared at the opening of watch shop. It was the first time the couple appeared in public after their relationship ended in 2008.
Throughout their relationship, the couple had kept a low profile.
At the opening, Charmaine who wore a fiery red dress went up to greet Kevin. When they were asked to take a picture together, the actress placed her hands on Kevin's shoulder. However, Kevin seemed a little uptight and merely smiled.
During an interview, Charmaine expressed that the last time she met Kevin was during the filming of Beyond the Realm of Conscience. She also praised Kevin for being a good man.
The actress let on that she did not know if Kevin is currently single and stressed that they are "just good friends".
At an interview later, Kevin contradicted the actress's statement by claiming that they last saw each other at a gathering.
However he stood up for her when asked about recent accusations that Charmaine was a home wrecker.
"I knew the report was not true, from the minute I saw it. If she says she's not involved, then she's not. Such news can tarnish a woman's image. The damage is even greater when a married man is involved. She handled it (the matter) very well," Kevin complimented.
Commenting on their past relationship, Kevin emphasised that Charmaine "did not come between" him and ex-girlfriend Nikki Chow. He added that they are still good friends.
