Dee Hsu has “no comments” on impending lawsuit

A remark made by Dee Hsu on her Taiwanese variety programme Here Comes Kang Xi recently landed the host in hot soup.

The sharp-tongued Dee commented on popular Chinese writer and historian Li Ao's unsuccessful pursuit of her Zhang Lan's (Barbie's mother-in-law) affections and called him "soup grapes" for saying that something is not worth having because one cannot obtain it.

Li Ao's manager, Cheng, mentioned the writer has already filed a lawsuit against Dee for making that reckless comment. According to Dee's mother, the 31-year-old artiste did not mean to cause trouble but is willing to face the consequences.

In an interview at Blackie Chen and Christine Fan's wedding celebration, Barbie refused to comment on said matter and stated that she will only speak of well-wishes for her best friend's wedding.

On the other hand, Dee's husband Mike Xu posted on Weibo that he will support his wife regardless of the price.

"I'll protect my wife and fight for her, even if it means I have to sell my house for the lawsuit," he wrote while Dee replied by saying "So sweet of you."

During the interview in the evening at Blackie and Christine's wedding, the mother of two girls said that she will not comment on this issue in the future.

On a separate occasion, when asked to feedback on Li Ao's comment that he is mixing with the wrong group of friends, Taiwanese host Kevin Tsai, also the partner of Dee for Here Comes Kang Xi, replied, "I love Dee, her sister and all my friends. I'm glad I have friends like them, and I hope Mr. Li has good friends too."

In other related news, when asked about the negative comment on Taiwan earlier made by her mother-in-law Zhang Lan, Barbie hopes that the public will forgive her mother-in-law, stating that "she did not mean any harm".
