Akimoto Sayaka, Kojima Haruna and Sashihara Rino during the opening of "Mecha-Ike" |
The special “surprise end-of-term exam” episode, that was all about determining the “Tokyo Sky Baka(Fool)”, featured three members from the popular idol group AKB48, Akimoto Sayaka, Sashihara Rinoand Kojima Haruna, among other female talents. Even though the guests are constantly getting teased for their ridiculous answers by Ninety-Nine’s Okamura Takashi and Yabe Hiroyuki, it was a fun and harmonious recording as usual for Mecha-Ike, even if it took a whole day to record the show.
However, one certain incident in the middle of the recording, that hadn’t been made public so far, interrupted the harmony – the apparent fainting of Kojima Haruna.
Before the incident occurred the staff noticed that she felt giddy, but only seconds later she already lay flat on her desk. Everyone rushed towards her, asking her if she was okay, and told the cameras to stop recording. Fortunately Kojima immediately was able to gain back her consciousness and when she saw the worried faces of everyone around her, she just smiled, “I’m okay, don’t worry.” After a short break of 5-10 minutes she even was already able to resume the recording as if nothing had happened.
Much to the surprise of the staff Akimoto and Sashihara remained calm during the whole incident, acting as if they have seen countless of similar incidents before. Together with Kojima, they politely apologized for the short interruption of the recording.
Being an idol definitely isn’t a piece of cake, and the girls should be more careful on the care of their bodies and try to get enough sleep, especially when they have to record for a whole day event such as the Mecha-Ike special. A staff from Fuji TV looked back at the broadcast and commented, “I knew it as soon as I saw the broadcast, it simply was too much for Kojima to record a TV show that day. She had bloodshot eyes and looked really tired. I doubt she was able to sleep at all since the day before the recording.”
