Taeyeon Dragged Offstage By Unknown Man During Performance
An unfortunate incident happened at the Angel Price Music Festival today when SNSD‘s Taeyeon was dragged offstage by an unknown man.
SNSD performed at the Angel Price Music Festival at the Lotte World Ice Rink at Songpa-gu, Seoul on the afternoon of April 17 and the event was jointly organized by Lotte World and Coupang.
Towards the end of their Run Devil Run performance, an unidentified individual appeared from backstage, according to witnesses. He then tried to drag Taeyeon offstage by holding onto her hand and the other members were caught by the surprise. Sunny was seen trying to hold Taeyeon back.
The unidentified man was detained at the parking lot by security shortly after. Despite the unpleasant surprise, Taeyeon and the rest of SNSD kept calm and remained professional to perform Hoot and Gee with smiles.
Taeyeon also kept her calm throughout the incident and assured fans that she was alright after she returned to stage. She continued to perform with a bright smile in the subsequent performances as seen in the fan taken photo below.
A representative from SM Entertainment said, “Thankfully, she’s not hurt. She was a bit surprised, but pulled herself together quickly.”
The lax and substandard security was heavily under fire after the incident but we are very glad that SNSD is safe.
However, such incidents are not to be tolerated in the future as the outcomes could be worse. Hopefully, SM Entertainment will do something to improve the security at such events.
