she picked me up for lunch the other day, and we were having a really nice conversation, and then she got on the topic of marriage...."i just always wished my son would marry a korean girl" she said breezily, like she wasnt even talk to me, "they're just so much nicer and smarter and cultured than american girls" (she made a face when she said "american girls," like we are disgusting). i didnt know what to say! i was shocked she said this to me, and it really hurt my feelings because i am not a party person, i never go out really, i graduated at the top of my class, and i've never even had a boyfriend before my fiancee! she was talking like every american girl is a scank, which is not true in the least!
should i say something to her about this? what do i even say? how would i bring this up? should i just leave it alone and secretly see her as racist against everyone but koreans (who ARENT more special than any other race, really. and i know lots of koreans. they are just the same.)?
