This is fine Thai Women are lovely and make great Wives/Girl-friends. If you choose the wrong one,or,go about selecting your Thai Women in the wrong manner you are quite likely to be taught a rather expensive lesson!!
If you have read any of my other Hubs or if you have visited my Website you will be aware that I caution about the large numbers of Thai Women who are in it purely for the cash .I have to admit at the risk of being labelled as totally cynical that the longer I remain in Thailand and the more I learn about Thai Women the more convinced I become that the overwhelming majority of Thai Women are in it for the cash!!
I am quite prepared to be proved wrong in my analysis and would love to hear from any Men that can honestly say that they have not encountered any of the negative stuff I frequently highlight with their particular Thai Lady.
All of the above does not mean that I am in the business of discouraging Men from looking for a Thai Woman. What I am doing is trying to make Men understand the vast difference in culture and indeed the the totally unique mindset of a Thai Woman and her Family.
Firstly any Thai Woman,s loyalty will always be to her Parents, Children,and Siblings in that order. Thai,s respect and revere their parents and will spend their entire Adult life fulfilling the obligation which they feel they have toward them.
Of course in all too many instances this can mean ongoing and substantial demands for cash from the Woman,s Western Partner. As I have also mentioned on numerous occasions Thai Women do not waste their time on notions of romantic love. Even although your Lady may have said all those romantic things when you were dating on line the chances are she got them out of a book.
The procurement of a Western Partner is being undertaken purely for financial reasons. The Man who can understand and accept this is in a good place to make a success of the affair with his Thai Woman.
Again as I have mentioned on numerous occasions what is being entered into is a mutually beneficial business arrangement. If you can accept this fact and conduct your relationship along business rather than emotional lines you are far more likely to make things work!!
Thai Men do not treat their Wives and Girl-Friends particularly well, and yet when it comes to the ending of a Marriage it is inevitably the Man who walks away. This fact tells us two things that (a) most Thai Women would rather still be Married to their Thai Husband and (b) that they do not expect to be cosseted,placed on a pedestal or otherwise mollycoddled!!
In fact as far as the above goes I would further suggest that a Thai Women will view this type of romantic behaviour as a sign of weakness. No I am not suggesting that you be unkind or cruel to your partner. What I am saying however is that most Thai Women are naturally disposed to look after their Man seeing to his needs being her priority.This is a part of Thai Culture and something that you should allow yourself to enjoy.
If the above is the case with your Woman just let her get on with it, no need to be grateful,it is what she does. Constantly telling your Woman how beautiful she is and how much you love her is in fact totally unnecessary and indeed counter productive.
As regards working out this mutually beneficial business arrangement, most Men who Mary a Thai Woman will pay her a monthly salary. Nothing wrong with this as long as it is understood that the Lady can do as she pleases with the money but that beyond this you are unwilling or unable to bankroll her Family!!
I would recommend reading my recent Hub,( Bad Ladies Are Much Cheaper Than Nice Ladies In Thailand) I am not suggesting that you should settle for the (Bad Lady) scenario as opposed to making a commitment to your Thai Lady merely pointing out that there is more than one option. What I do urge most strongly is that if you are considering Marriage with Your Thai partner that you read all of the content of my Website and proceed with caution.
I totally understand those who will say that all of this is just the ramblings of a jaded cynic. The truth is I have seen and heard about just too many disaster stories to allow myself to be any other way. I honestly believe that the only way to a survive a relationship with a Thai Woman is to be smarter than both Her and Her Family!!

Thai,s in general appear to have an amazing ability not to let questions about right and wrong stand in the way of making a Ba ht!! Even though on one level they may be aware that what they are doing is essentialy wrong they will quite happily ignore this inconvenient truth and get on with the business of making money. This phenomenon appears to span the whole of Thai society from the richest Politician or Businessman right down to the Lady ripping a Foreigner off for 2 or 3 Ba ht on the cost of a bottle of Coke!!

Forget my opinions,this video tells you everything you need to know.The Swedish Chap alludes to the difficulties encountered when he did not have enough money to take care of everyone.Now this Guy sounds like a placid long suffering ,kindly person,where problems arise is when someone not quite as understanding as the Gentleman in question feels pressured by one too many requests for cash.
I remember reading online of one very sad/stupid Westerner who had literally spent millions of Bhaat on a greedy Thai Wife and her nasty Family.When he started to run out of cash and had to refuse requests for cash he was actually physically attacked by his much younger Thai Father in Law!!
In the video the Swedish guys Thai wife states candidly that she has a car,does not feel the need to work and that generally life is good.It is my position that this is what all Thai Women and their Families want.A placid Falang who takes care of everyone and coughs up cash on demand!!
