On the episode of KBS-2TV’s talk show “Win Win” that aired on June 21, actress Kim Cheong, known as an “original beauty actress” and called the “Kim Tae Hee of the 1980s,” appeared and disclosed her private story.
In the “your dictionary” corner in which guests pick certain words to talk about their life, Kim Cheong picked the first keyword “spiritual wedding.”
MC Kim Seung Woo asked her, “What do you think about a spiritual wedding?” She answered, “It is a wedding of the most beloved people.” The audience was somewhat taken aback by her remark.
According to her, her father and mother could not get permission to marry from both their families because the age gap was too large, and her mother became pregnant before the wedding. Both families gave consent to their marriage only after Kim’s birth. However, Kim’s father, a soldier, died in a car accident while on leave on his way home to celebrate the 100th day of her birth. Kim’s parents could not hold a wedding because of the unfortunate accident.
After Kim grew to be a teenager and her family stabilized, her mother held a spiritual wedding with her father.
Kim Cheong said, “My mother’s family was so rich that I had two nannies and I did not miss not having a father when I was young.” But she confessed she had a hard time as she suffered from depression and could not get along well with her peers. She also divorced after only three days of marriage.
